Tuning Shock Absorber Compensation BWS-LOSI.

Enough of leaking dampers or full of air? here the solution.

Due to the standard rubber compensation, it is always a crime to properly fill and vent the shock absorbers, in addition to that the standard rubber must be replaced regularly because it is leaking problems between the damper housing and the upper damper closure. The rubbers regularly break due to the pressure of the chassis between the upper closure and shock housing.

This compensation consists of a Delrin part with O-ring and special foam, the filling and venting becomes much easier. The special foam has the same volume as the damper rod, so that the pressure in the damper remains practically the same during wishbone movements.

Filling and venting:

  • 1) Fill the damper with the damper piston in the lower position with oil to about 5 mm from the top
  • 2) Gently move the damper rod up and down so that the air can escape out of the oil
  • 3) Repeat this with 10 minute intervals until the air has completely disappeared from the oil
  • 4) Now place the volume compensation part up to the O-ring in the damper and hold in gently, (see photo 2)
  • 5) Now gently push the piston rod up to about 75% so that the excess oil can escape
  • 6) Now press the volume compensation cap all the way into the damper and remove the excess oil, (see photo 2)
  • 7) Use a little Loctite and fit the cap, (see photo 3)

TIP: By varying the percentage (indicated by default 75%) of the damper rod the desired rebound can be obtained
